Our collection of remarkable voyages offer opportunities to swim and snorkel in some of the world's finest marine environments; to cruise through tiny coral atolls and mountainous volcanic islands where many of the plants and animals have evolved in such extreme isolation they are found nowhere else in the world.

Our expedition staff and crew have hundreds of voyages between them. Their expertise, combined with the exceptional manoeuvrability, stability and comfort of our ships, mean we can be flexible, adjusting to changing conditions as well as passenger interests. We can access remote wildllife areas and explore secluded backwaters to a degree experienced by very few travelers.

All our voyages are led by a team of experts, chosen for their local knowledge, wealth of experience and their great love of our destinations. Rather than traditional cruise-ship entertainment, our experts bring our destinations to life through informal talks, walks and hikes ashore, interpretive Zodiac excursions and one-to-one or small group conversations. Our experts include ornithologists, geologists, historians, marine biologists, botanists, astronomers, photographers, culture experts, artists and general naturalists.

We aim to spend as much time off the ship as possible and our fleet of Zodiacs are able to disembark all passengers at once - swiftly, easily and safely. We will often break into smaller groups, with similar shared interests, and you can choose the level of adventure that suits you: explore exquisite bays by Zodiac; visit remote communities and awe-inspiring wildlife colonies or hike ashore in stunning wilderness ares.

Bird and wildlife watching is the backbone of many of our programs and groups will regularly head out in the company of world-renowned naturalists and ornithologists in search of rare and interesting wildlife.

A truly unforgettable way to experience Antarctica and the Arctic - sea kayaking is an option on all Akademik Ioffe and Akademik Sergey Vavilov voyages.

During most landings you can join our walking or hiking groups on exploratory walks of varying length. The key here is that you can be as active or adventurous as you like.

We visit some of the most remote communities on Earth and wherever possible, you will travel with experts who are actually from the places visited.

Our voyages present some of the most spectacular scenery and wildlife on the planet. We have photographic experts on board to answer your questions whether on film or digital photography, and each ship has a multimedia centre where passengers can download images and burn CDs. We also offer a number of special photgraphy departures.
