The Adventurer is air-conditioned and heated throughout. Each stateroom has individual controls to meet your personal requirements.
Onboard staff are available throughout your cruise to answer questions and to help coordinate all details of your cruise. The cruise director is a ship officer and is responsible for managing the guests’ activities on and off the vessel.
Special dietary foods can be provided, but we must be notified in writing eight weeks before sailing. The galley is not equipped to prepare or serve kosher cuisine.
Power on board the vessel is 220-volt current, with recessed outlets of the round, 2-pronged European type. If you plan to bring U.S. standard 110-volt equipment with a flat-pronged plug, you will need to bring a convertor and a round, 2-pronged European adapter plug. Each stateroom is provided with a 220-volt hair dryer for your convenience.
An e-mail service is available for guest use on board. Service is dependent upon satellite signal (location and weather). A charge will be applied for all incoming and outgoing e-mail messages. The charges will be posted to your shipboard account, payable at the end of your voyage. More information about this service will be available on board. Please keep in mind the e-mail service is for general communication. We have a paging service to assist with all emergencies. To ensure prompt delivery, please ask that any incoming e-mails include your full name in the subject line of the message. The guest e-mail address is clipperadventurer@clipperadventurer.net.
In the event of an emergency, family and friends may contact you through The Adventure Fleet at +1 314 655-3929 (Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. CST) or by contacting your tour operator or travel agent.
Attractive and interesting items are on display in our gift shop located on the Promenade Deck.
There is a massage therapist and massage room on board. Hours of operation will be posted on the ship’s daily news clips.
There is no guest Internet access or Wi-Fi capability on the ship. There may be Internet cafés or places to connect in some ports, but we cannot advise these locations from our home office. Our onboard staff may be able to help locate a "hot spot" in a port of call, but this cannot be guaranteed.
The laundry service on board can handle personal laundry and pressing. There are no facilities for dry cleaning.
Lecturers and/or naturalists will be on board The Adventurer to explain the cultural and natural history of the places you visit, and to enhance your enjoyment and appreciation of these destinations.
A small library is located on the Boat Deck and is stocked with a selection of reading materials relevant to the areas we are cruising. We ask that reference books remain in the library for all to use. Playing cards and games (checkers, cribbage, backgammon, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, and others) are also available in the library.
The purser handles the mailing of guests’ letters and postcards during the voyage. Individual postage is charged to your shipboard account.
Atmospheric conditions permitting, printed news is received by telex or satellite on weekdays. The most recent communication is posted at the reception desk.
Safety at sea is the major objective aboard The Adventurer. The ship contains the latest safety equipment and fully complies with the strict provisions of the International Maritime Organization known as the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), including the 1992 amendments. All officers are trained in emergency procedures; regular drills are held to instruct the crew in their emergency duties. For guests, an emergency muster drill is held within 24 hours of embarkation. Attendance at this drill is mandatory.
We operate a cashless system on board all ships. An account will be opened for you at embarkation. You can then sign onboard services and purchases to your account for the duration of your cruise. Shipboard account charges may include shore excursions, bar services, wines, and gifts. All accounts are settled prior to disembarkation. Cash, personal cheques, traveller’s cheques, MasterCard, American Express, and VISA are accepted for payment of shipboard accounts. All prices on board will be listed in U.S. dollars, the ship’s official currency.
To safeguard the health of our guests, smoking is not allowed at any time in any interior areas of the ship, including the Dining Room, Observation Lounge, or guest staterooms. Smoking is permitted only on the outer decks.
Facilities may not be available for the disabled traveller. If you have special needs, please contact The Adventure Fleet at +1 314 655-3929 (Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. CST). Please Note: There is no elevator on the ship. There is no wheelchair on the ship.
A satellite telephone is available for use both at sea and in port, 24 hours a day, for outgoing calls (service is dependent on ship location and weather conditions). Satellite phone calls will be paid for by credit card at the time of the call.
Gratuities are not expected onboard the Adventurer, they are included in the cost of your trip.
We are not responsible for loss or theft of jewellery, cash, etc. Each stateroom has a security drawer with a separate key. We encourage you to make use of this facility.
There is a small workout room on the Main Deck, with weights and stationary bicycles for individual use.
